Youth Art Connection works with diverse, talented artists 30 and under, meeting them “where they’re at” and helping them grow arts-based businesses, social impact projects.
OUR PROGRAMS ENGAGE AND ATTRACT YOUTH FROM A WIDE RANGE OF BACKGROUNDS. SPECIFICALLY WE ENGAGE MI’KMAQ YOUTH, BLACK YOUTH, LGBTQIAP2+ YOUTH, NEW IMMIGRANTS, YOUNG WOMEN AND YOUTH LIVING IN BOTH URBAN AND RURAL AREAS.

HUB HFX
HUBHFX is a weekly gathering for emerging artists from all genres, cultures and backgrounds to network, skill share and collaborate.
Visiting artists and industry professionals contribute through workshops and presentations. Artists are connected with opportunities to develop careers & businesses, deepen learning, and lead their communities, and collaborate on regular public performances and art shows.
HUBHFX aims to be a safe, inclusive and supportive space for artists 30 and under from any social, cultural, economic backgrounds. It is always FREE.
EMERGEHFX
EMERGEHFX All Ages Festival and Conference is an annual multi-day festival featuring and engaging Halifax’s newest artists, songwriters and performers.
EMERGEHFX also presents special programming throughout the year in conjunction with other major festivals in Halifax. EMERGEHFX features the best emerging talent from Nova Scotia, and specifically promotes the art and talent of under 19 artists and others often under-represented in main stream music industries in Nova Scotia.
ARTPRENEURS
YAC’s ARTpreneurs program features a 10-week business introduction program for young artists.
10 artists per session are accepted, trained and supported to develop artistic passions and skills into creative products and services. The ARTpreneurs curriculum was co-created by YAC program alumni and feature a series of instructional videos made by young artists for young artists. YAC is developing a new web app to help more young artists access business knowledge essential to starting their entrepreneurial careers.
