“Building on the momentum of Rt. Hon. Michaelle Jean’s ‘Power of the Arts’ eveningYouth Arts Connection hosted Nov 27th 2013 (right after We Day), with Halifax community youth artists and activists.. we are excited to present four graduates of YAC’s new ArtPreneurs program in an evening hosted by poet laureate El Jones.”

ArtCeleration is free and open to the public, with refreshments provided. Please RSVP to youthartconnection@gmail.com if you plan to attend. The evening will begin at 5pm on February 25th in the McInnes Cooper atrium with creative activity stations (photo booth, DJ booth etc..) and an opportunity to meet local artists, and youth cultural organizations and enjoy a DJ corner, photo booth and art gallery. The new ArtPreneurs will then present themselves and the creative products and services that they have for sale: Robin Arsenault (singer), Nima Tabatabaei (rapper/beat producer), Felipe Bonilla (artist/illustrator) and Sheila Balatero (photographer/model). Three of the four new ArtPreneurs are recent immigrants to NS, and they all have inspiring life stories to share.

Once you have met the ArtPreneurs, join in a Rt. Hon. Michaëlle Jean inspired dialogue on what actions we can take to support youth to use their passion to create a difference in their own life and the lives of those in their community. The evening will wrap up with sharing stories and performances about how the arts are playing a transformative role in the lives of Nova Scotia and how additional opportunities can be created.
